Email Preferences
Which emails are sent and how to withdraw your consent.
This is an informational translation. In case of any discrepancy, the Turkish text prevails.
No email is being sent from this site at the moment. The newsletter infrastructure isn't connected yet; filling in the form creates no record and sends no message. The rules below are the rules that will apply once it is connected.
What kinds of email exist
Below are the kinds of message you might receive after joining the newsletter. Telling them apart matters: they are not all the same thing and they are not all subject to the same permission.
1. Delivery of the resource you asked for
The email sent so you can reach the file you requested. This is your own request being carried out; without it you couldn't get to the thing you asked for in the first place.
2. Service / transactional messages
Technical notices about your record (for example, confirmation that it has been deleted). These are not marketing, and they are rare.
3. Newsletter content
The writing, templates and methods sent out regularly. This is the actual reason for joining the newsletter.
4. Product, course and campaign announcements
Announcements of a new course, a paid product or a campaign. Messages of this kind are commercial electronic messages under Turkish law.
How permission works
There is no bundled, single-checkbox consent on this site. The newsletter form has no box to tick at all: you type your address and send it, and that is enough to receive the resource you asked for.
Two separate things must not be conflated.
- The KVKK notice is information; it does not ask for consent. Details: Data Protection Notice.
- Consent to commercial electronic messages is a separate consent under Law no. 6563 and is required only for type 4 above. That consent cannot be hidden inside the KVKK notice.
When commercial messaging begins, this consent will be asked as a separate, unticked and optional choice. Not giving it will not prevent you from receiving the free resource you requested: a service cannot be made conditional on an unrelated marketing consent.
The Message Management System (İYS)
Under Turkish law, consent to commercial electronic messages is managed through the Message Management System (İleti Yönetim Sistemi). Recipients can view the consents they have given, and exercise their right to refuse, from a single place at iys.org.tr.
This site's İYS registration status: not specified.
Until the field above is filled in, this text makes no claim that İYS registration has been completed. Commercial messaging must not begin before the required registration and consent process is finished.
How to withdraw your consent
- Using the link at the bottom of every message. Every email sent carries a free and straightforward unsubscribe link.
- By writing an email: saying “I want out” to emirhan@emirhansevim.com is enough; you do not have to give a reason.
- Through İYS — for commercial messages, from the moment the record is created.
Your request is processed within the period the legislation provides. Leaving the list does not affect your access to resources you already downloaded.
Deleting your record
Leaving the list and having your record deleted entirely are not the same thing. If you want it deleted, saying so separately is enough: emirhan@emirhansevim.com.
Retention period after leaving: not specified. A limited record may need to be kept in order to prove that consent was withdrawn; that period is stated explicitly above, never left vague.
What is not done
- Your address is not sold and not given to third parties for marketing.
- No messages are sent to purchased lists; only addresses you typed yourself enter the list.
- Consent is never made a condition of an unrelated service.
